Popular Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has touched hearts online by sharing his chat with actress Aderounmu Adejoke just days before her passing. Adejoke, best known for her role as “Esther” in the hit series Jenifa’s Diary, passed away on April 6th, 2024, at the age of 40.
The heartbreaking news was announced by Adejoke’s brother, Adeola Aderonmu, on his Instagram story. While the cause of her death remains unknown, many celebrities took to social media to mourn her untimely passing.
Despite not appearing on screen for some time, Adejoke had been in touch with Deyemi Okanlawon before her passing. In the chat shared by Deyemi, Adejoke was seen expressing gratitude for his check-in, her voice trembling with emotion. She mentioned that she intended to reach out to him as well, but financial constraints held her back.
The news of Adejoke’s passing has left many in the entertainment industry and her fans in mourning, remembering her for the talent and joy she brought to her roles.
Sharing the message, Deyemi Okanlawon wrote;
“Death brings everything into perspective often times helping us see how trivial some of the things we concern ourselves with are. Jumoke I am so so sorry, I thought we had all the time in the world and really should have just called. Goodbye my dear friend…. we will continue the conversations in a better place! Pls pick up the phone and call someone you love today… ♥️.”
