Asake Made history By Receiving 8 Nominations In Headies Debut

In the 16th Headies, Asake establishes a new record for most nominations for a debutant.

Asake, the popular singer who goes by the stage name Ahmed Ololade, has broken a previous record for most Headies nominations for a debut artist.

 

 

The 16th edition of the Headies Award candidates were announced on Wednesday by the event’s organizers.

Asake received a total of eight nominations, making history by becoming the first artist to receive that many nods in their Headies debut.

As the first artist to receive nominations for both “Best Male Artiste of The Year” and “Next Rated” at the same time, the YBNL signee also created history.

Song of the Year (“Sungba” Remix ft. Burna Boy), Digital Artist of the Year (“Bandana”), and Best Collaboration.

Fireboy DML), Album of the Year (“Mr Money With The Vibe”), Best Street-Hop Artist (“Joha”), and Headies Viewers’ Favorite (“Sungba” Remix ft. Burna Boy) were among the winners.

 

 

The artist with the second-most nominations at the 16th Headies, after Burna Boy (11), is Asake (8).

Asake responded to the achievement on Twitter, writing, “Thank you @The_Headies for the nominations. This is really important to me.
