AKA memorial service have just started, i must say it’s very dignified and well organized one. This won’t be easy for Tony Forbes, Lynn, Kairo, DJ Zinhle and Nadia to witness this. Let’s Please Pray for them to GOD to carry them through this difficult times. South African Industry was supposed to be a happy place for us to switch to, but instead we gain sadness most of lately.
#AKAMemorial South African Music Industry giants have started to arrive. Motswako rapper Khulane Morule better known by his stage name Khuli Chana is also here to pay his respects. Dj Zinhle’s mom was also seen there for her daughter and granddaughter, Kairo.
Seeing AKA’s daughter comforting AKA’s girlfriend Nadia Nakai was painful and heartbreaking. This memorial is too painful because it confirms this super surreal moment of mourning is actually a reality, though his family is trying to be strong and make this a celebratory event it’s still just too painful.
Kabelo Mabalane was also seen on stage for a prayer session. South Africa has lost a very dear and loved Son of the soil, AKA King of Rap and Hip Hop. It’s deeply painful for everyone who loved him like family.
AKA’s music made us feel like we personally know him. As we are celebrating Keirnen’s life today, we cannot leave out the greatest songs he gave us, mashed up his favourite songs. Comment with a song that made you fall in love with his music.
