My album’ll only be released after mum’s approval, says Tope Alabi’s daughter, Ayomiku

A Gospel singer, Ayomiku, who is a daughter to popular singer, Tope Alabi, has said the only reason she has not released her album is because she is yet to get her mother’s input.

She told Saturday Beats, “My mother is ‘everywhere’ in my music. I get her input on my songs 90 per cent of the time. The only reason my Extended Play album is yet to be released is because I am waiting for her input on it.”

Ayomiku however noted that she did not become a singer simply because her mother is also one but because it was what she wanted to do. She said, “I was called to sing and I get my inspiration from the Holy Spirit and my environment. By environment, I mean what goes on in my life, other people’s lives, as well as people’s testimonies and trials. I picked interest in singing because my mother is a singer and I get her support 90 per cent of the time. However, I decided to become a musician of my own volition. I write my music myself. I also write movie scripts, and I watch films to critique storylines.”

Speaking about her yet to be released album, Ayomiku said, “My album, which is my first, would be something that has never been heard before. It would genuinely be one of a kind and I hope that God ministers to people through the songs. Although I wanted it to be released on December 12, 2021, during my debut concert, I later decided to make it a New Year’s gift for my fans, so it would be released on January 6, 2022.”
