The legacy of Chizoba, the wife of Herbert Wigwe of the founders of Access Bank continues.
In what appears a strong show of confidence in the competence of Craneburg, the company she founded in 2016, the Governor of Rivers state Siminalayi Fubara has awarded the construction firm a contract worth N80.8 billion.
The contract is for the the 33.5-kilometer Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ikiri-Omoku road in Rivers State. It is expected to be completed in 24 months according to the Governor.
Chizoba, her husband – the more popular Herbert Wigwe and son Chizzy and a family friend – Abimbola Ogunbanjo, a former Chairman of the NGX were victims of a Friday, February 9, 2024, helicopter crash in the United States of America.
Their demise attracted widespread expression of grief including from President Bola Tinubu.
Fubara announced the multi-billion naira road contract to Chizoba Wigwe on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, with the narrative that reads…
“At the just concluded State Executive Council meeting, numerous issues were deliberated upon regarding the development of our dear state.
One of the important issues that was discussed and approved is the 33.5-kilometer Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ikiri-Omoku road.
The project, which is worth N80.8 billion, has been awarded to Craneburg Construction Company and is expected to be completed in 24 months.
This project further confirms our determination to spread development across the state for the benefit of our people.”
