The government of Niger Republic, reportedly disrespected Nigeria and refused to open their land and air borders, days after the Nigerian government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ordered the Nigerian Custom Service, to reopen the boarders.
Based on that note, a former presidential aide and a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Bashir Ahmad, decided to react. While reacting, he described the action of the Niger Republic Government as a blatant disregard for diplomatic protocols.
Mr Bashir Ahmad made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle, while reacting to the report.
He wrote: According to a report by Daily Trust, despite the recent reopening of the Nigeria-Niger land and air borders by the Federal Government, the authorities in Niger have not yet responded to the development and also kept their entry points closed. Is this not a blatant disregard for diplomatic protocols by the Nigerien authority?”
