We May Not Always Get It Right, But We Must Get It Right 90% Of The Time – Tinubu

The specifics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Friday meeting with traditional chiefs have been made public.

According to Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information to the President, Tinubu briefed the royal fathers during an interactive session organized by the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) about his administration’s decision to end fuel subsidies, enhance security, create jobs, and protect the environment, as well as the impending election of the 10th National Assembly’s principal officers.

“We are all listening. At any time, we are willing to hear. I pledge to conduct myself with an open door policy. I have an open door policy, so feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. For the sake of this nation.” he remarked. “We may not always get it right, but we must get it right 90% of the time.” Says Tinubu

The President reassured the traditional leaders over the challenges facing the nation, adding, “Worry not because the country is in good hands.”

President Tinubu pleaded with the traditional leaders to convince Nigerians to have trust that petrol pump prices will eventually go down in response to the decision to abolish fuel subsidies, which several speakers at the conference supported.

“I’m glad you’re taking notice of what I’ve been doing. You’ve been keeping an eye on the subsidy removal. “The elephant that was going to knock Nigeria to its knees is the subsidies,” Tinubu said. “Why should we, in good heart and sense, feed traffickers and be Father Christmas to neighboring countries, even though they say not every day is Christmas? We claim that we have the ability to motivate ourselves in a nation that is unable to pay salaries. I believe we made the right decision,” he remarked.
