Senator Magnus Abe Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governorship candidate of the Rivers State Social Democratic Party, has publicly stated that winning the Rivers State presidential election is not his plan. Senator Magnus Abe, a former APC chieftain and strategic member of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign committee, said he never thought that Tinubu would win River State. He pointed out that the calculations before leaving the party were completely different from those during the presidential election. But he said the game changer in this scenario was Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike who enabled Bola Tinubu to win the state. Tinubu said he finally seemed to have benefited from the change in political dynamics. The results of the Rivers State presidential election are still being challenged by Labour in the Tribunal.
