Amaechi drove to my house in the presence of my wife in Abuja, and told me that he knew I could win an election but that I should not dare to contest – Senator Magnus Abe

Senator Magnus Abe, who happens to be a former member of the National Assembly, on Wednesday, attacked the former governor of Rivers State, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, alleging that the former Minister destroyed the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

Senator Magnus Abe, alleged that Hon. Amaechi destroyed the Rivers State All Progressives Congress between the year 2015 and 2019, just to frustrate him (Abe) from becoming the governor of the state.

According to Punch, it was reported that Abe said this in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, while he was addressing party stakeholders.

Senator Magnus Abe, who contested for Rivers governorship on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the 2023 general elections, said that he returned to the All Progressives Congress, because of his support for the presidential ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He also said he’s now working with the immediate former governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in order to achieve President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

He said, “Amaechi drove to my house in the presence of my wife in Abuja, and told me that he knew I could win an election but that I should not dare to contest because I did not even have the money to pay delegates.”
