The Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria, Babatunde Fashola has come out to reveal that the All Progressives Congress was blindsided in Lagos State and that resulted in a defeat to Labour Party’s Peter Obi in that state.
According Fashola who appeared in an interview on Channels television this night, the APC did not expect Labour Party to win in Lagos State but they did, to the surprise of the APC.
In his own words as seen on Channels television this night…
“We were blindsided in Lagos State and that’s why Peter Obi came and got the most votes in the state. The opposition turned out their voters there and you also saw that a party that has been competitive for 24 years, the umbrella party suddenly disappeared. It showed that their support base has shifted. So that Labour Party victory surprised us. I am not going to make any statements at all on statement made by Labour Party that they got more votes in Lagos than what INEC gave them.”
