I would have become a governor long time ago if I had followed Tinubu’s advice- Asari Dokubo

Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo took to Facebook in the early hours of the day to discuss Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other socio-political issues.

During his speech, he revealed that he failed after studying law for six years at university. However, he received help from the Ijaw nation, which provided him with a platform to become better. He regretted not following the advice given to him by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which could have made him a governor a long time ago.

According to him; “I failed after spending 6 years in the university studying law. The ijaw nation later provided a platform for me and when I got into the platform, I became better. If I had followed the advice Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave me then, I would have become a governor long time ago.”

Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo further explained that after becoming successful with the help of the Ijaw nation, many people became his enemy. He was offered numerous political positions, including a senatorial position that former governor Odili tried to entice him with. However, he refused all the offers and chose not to go into politics because he believed it was the street and creeks that made him, not his father’s house.

Finally, Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo expressed his gratitude towards the Ijaw nation for providing him with the platform to succeed after failing in university. He noted that without their help, he would have gone into oblivion and only inherited the little his father left behind. He concluded his speech by stating that he made it in life due to the support he received from the Ijaw nation, and not from politicians or his family.
