Bayern Munich have officially dismissed Julian Nagelsmann.
The reported reasons why it happened definitely wouldn’t apply to Xavi at Barcelona.
1. Negative sporting development in the Bundesliga
While Bayern are struggling to be on top of their league this season, Xavi is doing very well in La Liga, on course to leading Barca to their long-awaited title win.
Last season, Xavi massively contributed to Barcelona’s top-4 finish; this time, we are 12 points clear of the 2nd-placed Real Madrid. Positive development is obvious here.
2. Lack of player development (talents & top transfers)
Ousmane Dembele went on to become La Liga’s top assistant and one of the best wingers in the game last season. Youngsters like Pedri, Gavi and Alejandro Balde have become more mature, and even the new signings like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde are turning into more complete players.
3. Nagelsmann was on holiday while his team had to work
We could imagine Ronald Koeman cutting back his training hours – but Xavi? Never. He even comes to the training ground when most of his players have a day off. He makes sure he always stays connected with the ones he coaches.
