On March 8, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), announced on his official Twitter account that INEC had denied his party access to the materials used in the February 25 polls, despite obtaining a court order allowing them to inspect the electoral materials. Obi revealed that he would be heading to court himself that day, accompanied by lawyers, to challenge the matter.
He expressed disappointment at the denial of access, saying that his whistle-stop campaign for various Labour Party governorship and state assembly candidates was supposed to commence that day. He called on his supporters to vote for candidates who possessed qualities that were synonymous with his campaign mantra, such as competence, character, capacity, and compassion.
Obi remained committed to his mission of retrieving his mandate and promised to give more attention to achieving that goal.
