Barcelona Star Dembele Donates €100,000 to Boyhood Club Hit by Financial Crisis

Ousmane Dembele has won many hearts over after the winger donated €100,000 to his boyhood club, FC Evreux 27, who are currently battling a financial crisis.

The Barcelona star remains loyal to his local town and the club that set him on the road to professional football, years after leaving the French side that plays in the fourth tier of the country’s leagues.

According to Football Espana, Dembele started out in the club’s youth ranks at the age of between 12 and 13, playing for ALM Évreux before switching to Evreux FC in 2009.

The France winger, who has been roundly praised by the club and the mayor, was spotted by a host of Ligue 1 club scouts before he opted to move to Rennes in 2010.

Dembele was later brought to Germany by Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and a year later, Barcelona paid a hefty €105 million transfer fee to bring him to Catalonia.
