AKA’s Body Arrives in Johannesburg, Fikile Mbalula Says Rapper’s Murder in Durban Was an Assassination”

AKA’s family has confirmed that his body has arrived in Johannesburg following his murder on Friday night.

AKA’s body has arrived in Johannesburg. The rapper’s lawyer confirmed that AKA’s family returned with his remains from Durban on Sunday. Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula reportedly described Supa Mega’s murder as an assassination. AKA was fatally shot in Durban on Friday night. Mbalula also questioned the motive behind the Fela In Versace hitmaker’s shooting.

The ANC politician further said AKA’s murder was a hit. According to SABC News, Mbalula added that government believes in the capacity of the police to “get to the bottom of this”. AKA’s lawyer Rudolf Baloyi confirmed that the musician’s family returned with his remains after identifying his body.

Musician and businessman Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (AKA) was shot and killed while on Florida Road Durban, on Friday 10th February.

CCTV footage has been widely shared showing the shooting in Florida Road, Durban, on Friday night which claimed the lives of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. Close range, back of his head, headshot. There was no way AKA would have survived this, and it happened so quick and fast.

The grainy footage shows AKA embracing a friend. He shakes hands with the friend before glancing over his shoulder down the street. He returns to his group before a man wearing a white sweater and hat sprints up to him, firing a gun several times.

The guy hugging AKA was Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, and he was also shot. He was the other guy who died alongside AKA. This is tough.
