Why APC Lost The Osun State Governorship Election – Babajide Otitoju Reacts

It is no longer news that the candidate of the All Progressive, Gboyega Oyetola has not been able to retain his seat in the recently conducted Osun state governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission earlier declared Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of the election.

Reacting on the outcome of the election, Popular Nigerian broadcaster and multiple awards winning journalist, Babajide Otitoju has given reasons why APC lost the election.

Speaking during today’s edition of journalists, Babajide attributed the failure of APC to win Olorunda and Oshogbo as the main reason for the defeat. He said there is no way APC candidate could have won the election without securing these two areas.

“What PDP did better this time was to defeat the APC in Oshogbo and Olorunda. These are areas where the APC have not previously lost election. When you lose in Oshogbo and Olorunda, it going to be very difficult for you to win the election because those are the most densely populated areas and the heart of the state capital” Babajide stated.
