4 Foods To Eat To Get Rid Of Bad Breath

Bad breath is something some of us don’t like, either in ourselves or in others. The negative reaction we get from some people when they perceive our bad breath is not what some of us don’t like to experience.

After brushing your tongue and teeth two times a day, you might notice that you still have bad breath. If you wish to have a solution to it, the solution can also be found in your diet.

Some foods will not give you good breath and should be avoided. Foods like raw onions, garlic, and alcohol, as well as coffee, which can cause your mouth to be dry and reduce the flow of saliva, should be avoided.

According to WebMD, the following foods can help you get rid of bad breath when you eat them:

1. Get a sugar-free chewing gum and chew it for some minutes after eating your regular food. It helps in removing some food residues and dead cells from your mouth and increases the secretion of saliva.

This will help prevent bacteria in your mouth.

2. Drink plenty of water and swish it around your mouth before swallowing. This will increase the production of saliva. When your mouth is not dry, the saliva will always cleanse your mouth of food particles that can cause bad breath.

3. A study has advised that drinking yogurt that does not contain sugar can help in removing bad breath.

Yogurt contains beneficial bacteria that, if you drink it every day for a few weeks, will reduce the sulfide compounds that cause odor in your mouth. The vitamin D content in yogurt also helps in fighting off bacteria in your mouth.

4. Eat vegetables and fruits especially fruits high in vitamin C. The acidic content of fruits high in vitamin C can help get rid of bad breath. It will clean your mouth of food remnants and wash your throat.
