Floyd Mayweather has committed to helping Errol Spence prepare for his fight with Manny Pacquiao later this summer.

Boxing legend Mayweather will take on Logan Paul in an exhibition bout this weekend, and appears to be turning his attentions to coaching much like his father Floyd Sr.
He fought Pacquiao in the highest-grossing boxing match of all time back in 2015, attracting a reported 4.6million pay-per-view buys and earning himself around $250million.
And now he has said that he will offer some words of wisdom to Spence as he prepares to face the boxing great on August 21 in Las Vegas.
“I wish both guys nothing but the best,” Mayweather told reporters at a media day yesterday. “But Errol Spence, I want to see him win.
“I’m pushing for Errol Spence to win, absolutely, that’s my people – I’m going to always push for my people first.
“Just like the Philippines are gonna stand by their man; Pacquiao, I’m an American, and I’m going to stand by my people first.
“Actually, I’m gonna call him and give him some pointers… Pacquiao, he has to fight, I don’t. I put myself in a position where I don’t have to fight anymore.”
Pacquiao has claimed he plans to upset the odds against Spence, just like he did in 2019 when he last fought against Keith Thurman.
“I’m trying my best to make it better than the Thurman fight,” Pacquiao told TV5. “I want to become a little bit smaller to gain more speed.”
The Filipino boxer, who has also tried his hand at politics over the years, has said that he expects his time out of the ring to be of benefit, adding that it gave his body time to recover.
He was an underdog heading into the bout with Thurman, and is again against Spence.
His win over the Australian in 2019 made him the oldest welterweight in boxing history to win one of the major belts.
Mayweather, meanwhile, has also agreed to train Tyron Woodley for his bout with Jake Paul just one week later, with the former UFC champion saying that he will accept an offer to train with the 50-0 legend.
“Give me Tyron Woodley,” Mayweather told reporters yesterday. “I’m going to get in camp and I’m going to train him for this fight, I want him to come to Las Vegas and work with us.”
And later at his own media day, Woodley responded to the offer, and said that talks have been ongoing behind the scenes between his and Mayweather’s people.
“They just texted me ‘let’s do it’,” he explained. “I just talked to them today.
“Why would I not train with the best boxer of all time? He’s already my dog, we’ve been talking about training for a long time anyway so for sure I’m going to take him up on that.”
