Cristiano Ronaldo gets a red card, nearly punches the referee, then sarcastically claps his hands after being sent off

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have lost another important game of football. This time, they lost 2-1 to Al-Hilal in the semi-finals of the Saudi Arabian Supercup. Trailing 2-0 late on, Sadio Mane only managed to score a consolation goal.

 

However, it was the legendary Portuguese who made the headlines. Cristiano was not famed for his goalscoring abilities, but was involved in yet another incident.

Firstly, he was booked for arguing with the referee late in the first half when he disallowed Otavio’s goal for offside. The reaction was priceless:

In the 87th minute, with Al-Nasr down by two goals, Ronaldo’s nerves got the better of him. He tried to throw in a quick ball and hit an opponent near the sideline. The Portuguese almost elbowed him, although no punch was delivered, but the referee still showed him a red card
