Jadon Sancho Reveals Why Dortmund Holds a Special Place in His Journey

The 23-year-old forward has returned to his former club, the German giants, on a six-month loan deal. This decision comes after his public fallout with United boss Erik ten Hag. Considered one of the best forwards in the world, the England international joined United in the summer of 2021 for £73m.

However, his time at Old Trafford has been marred by inconsistent form and fitness issues, resulting in just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances. In an interview with Dortmund’s media team, Sancho expressed his delight at being back in the Bundesliga, stating, “It’s so nice to be back.

Dortmund holds a special place in my heart, it’s my home as it is where my professional football career began. Returning here brings me immense joy. I am eager to start and confident that my teammates will make the transition smooth. We share the same enthusiasm and desire to succeed. Our goal is clear – to win matches, score goals, and create scoring opportunities. I am filled with anticipation for what lies ahead. The warm reception from the fans, along with discussions with key individuals such as Edin Terzic, Sebastian Kehl, Hans-Joachim Watzke, Marco Reus, and other players, solidified my decision to come back. It feels right.
