Joao Felix explains passionate celebration after scoring against parent club Atleti

“My celebration? It was a relief for what I went through this last summer,” Joao Felix said after the game.

“Only my family and those around me know what I went through and it has been a relief, especially for them,” the attacker added.

However, Felix confirmed he holds no grudges against his teammates at Atleti.

“I have nothing against my Atlético teammates,” he said. “I love them very much and I want them to do as well as possible except against us [Barca].

“They are like my family,” Felix added.

The Portuguese forward is on loan from Atleti but when he scored against them, he climbed up the barricade and spread his hands wide as if to say ‘see what you rejected!’

That Felix goal in the 28th minute turned out to be the match-winner as both teams cancelled each other out afterwards.

Felix has now scored five goals in 17 games for Barca this season. The goal vs Atleti was only his second goal in La Liga.
