Goalkeeper Nick Marsman is unemployed after Inter Miami bought out his contract. The 32-year-old is now free to sign for another club.
Marsman got a bit of Internet fame in the wake of Leo Messi’s arrival in MLS. The 32-year-old Dutchman was quoted by multiple sources as saying the club was not ready for the superstar’s arrival.
“Personally, I think the club isn’t ready for Messi’s arrival,” Marsman reportedly said in July.
“We have a temporary stadium and people can easily step onto the pitch, there are no gates. We have no security at the stadium. I hope he comes but we’re not ready.”
The fact that Marsman is now a free agent may or may not have to do with his words. After all, he wasn’t a starter at the club, starting for the last time in September 2022.
