On Monday, it was reported that Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the party’s National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, were forced to re-sign, following an alleged directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom sources claimed could no longer tolerate their excesses against the party.
However, according to a news that was published by the Thisday Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that some sketchy details of how the immediate past National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, who was also forced to re-sign from office on Sunday, ran into problems in the party.
It was reported that a source in the All Progressives Congress, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, when he was asked what the sins of Senator Iyiola Omisore were that made him re-sign along with Adamu, said that, Iyiola had never been truly progressive.
He said, “The former secretary had never been a true progressive. He colluded with Adamu to mangle the finances of the party, as this was completely displeasing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and he could not save him.”
Further talking, the source, however, dismissed insinuations of any backlash likely to come from the development, as he said that anyone in Tinubu’s shoes, would also not have tolerated Adamu’s high-handedness.
