Xavi has tested the centre-back pairing of Ronald Araujo and Mikayil Fayemultiple times in training, reports Diario Sport’s Jordi Gil.
Their link has been great so far. Faye is left-footed, so they complement each other well.
The Senegalese stands out for ball control and physical strength.
The 19-year-old will travel to the United States for the pre-season tour with Barcelona’s first team. Xavi is expected to give him many chances: Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde are still on vacation while Inigo Martinez continues to recover from injury.
Barcelona signed Mikayil Faye for Barca Atletic earlier this summer. The Senegalese, nicknamed ‘the Monster’, joined the club for €1.5m plus add-ons.
