Despite the possibility of a potential move to Manchester United, Mason Mount is prepared to report for Chelsea training and make himself available for the club’s pre-season tour in America.
Manchester United has made three unsuccessful bids for Mount, with their final offer of £55 million still on the table. While the West Londoners are holding out for £65 million, there is a growing belief that Manchester United has reached their limit and may soon shift their focus to alternative targets if Chelsea doesn’t lower their demands.
The England international is still yet to sign a contract extension with Chelsea, posing a dilemma for the club as he could leave on a Bosman deal next summer. Reports have surfaced that Mount has already agreed to personal terms with Manchester United and is eager to secure a move to the Threatre of Dreams, feeling it’s time for a change.
However, despite these reports, Mount is expected to inform incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino that he will give his all for the club as long as he remains under contract. He is ready to participate in the US tour ahead of the upcoming season.
Pochettino, the former Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham, and Southampton boss, will officially take charge next week as Chelsea’s sixth permanent manager in five years. It’s been suggested that Pochettino admires Mount as a player and may attempt to persuade the English midfielder to stay once he assumes his role at the club.
