According to news updates trickling down the media, the JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, said Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election was supported by God. He said it was Tinubu’s “turn” to be the President, and that God endorsed him when he said “Emi Lokan”, meaning “It’s my turn”. Recall that the President-elect made the remark in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when he was canvassing for the APC presidential ticket.
Buttressing his points, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede gave 2 Quran verses to prove that it was Tinubu’s “turn” to be the president. The verses he gave are Quran 15:5 and Quran 23:42, which explain that no group or person can solely hasten their own term or turn, and nobody can delay anyone’s turn.
“When Asiwaju said, ‘Emi lokan’, Allah accepted it because Quran 15:5 and Quran 23:42 says no group can, on its own, hasten his own term and turn, nor can it be delayed by anybody. That is Quran 15:5. So, it is almighty Allah who has said ‘Iwo lokan”, he said.
