With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, Real Madrid have maintained their stellar Champions League reputation. Since the Italian’s return, the ‘Merengues’ have qualified for their third consecutive Champions League semi-final. What’s more, the Spanish giants have reached at least this stage in 11 of the last 13 seasons.

Having said that, ‘Mundo Deportivo’, it didn’t take long for the happiness to fade. The reason being that the Madrid board aren’t happy with UEFA’s decision to put the City game on the 9th May. What that means is that it will come just three days after their big Copa del Rey final against Osasuna.

The Real Madrid board asked European football’s main governing body to schedule the tie for the day after. However, the organisation that Aleksander Ceferin ignored Los Blancos’ desires and have decided that Milan-Inter will be the one to be played that day.

herefore, Ancelotti’s side will have less than 72 hours to prepare for a key clash at the end of the season, which leaves Florentino and his side not happy at all
