Current La Liga Table After Real Madrid secured three points to boost their title hopes

Real Madrid returned from the international break in style, as they put Real Valladolid to the sword in front of their adoring fans.

They did not find their first goal until the 22nd minute, but it was a sign of things to come. Rodrygo converted Asensio’s throughball before the floodgates opened before half-time.

Valladolid were helpless as Benzema scored a seven-minute hat-trick, as he converted two Vinicius passes, while his overhead kick from Rodrygo’s cross put the game to bed at the end of the first half.

Both teams made numerous changes in the second 45 minutes, but Real Madrid continued to push forward. After having a goal disallowed for handball, Asensio and Vazquez found time to add a fifth and sixth before the full-time whistle.

Ancelotti’s side are still 12 points behind Barcelona in the LaLiga table, but the manner of that performance may give them a lift in the final two months of the season. Valladolid are in a precarious position after that result, and they are just one point above the relegation zone, while the scoreline will have done their goal different no favours.
