Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has discussed his two biggest regrets with regard to his playing career.
Fabregas, who currently plays for Serie B outfit Como, said that his failure to help the Gunners win the Champions League final in 2006 and his lack of success with the club while acting as its captain are his two biggest regrets as a professional athlete.
The Spanish star revealed on Kammy and Ben’s Proper Football Podcast, “The biggest regret of my career will always be not winning that Champions League final [in 2006], since we were so, so close to doing so.”
I was only 18 years old when Arsenal played in either its first-ever or only-ever Champions League championship game. We were so close together.
Also, since I gave so much as the captain of Arsenal, not winning a title will always hurt. I was really worn out.
