Xavi explains why Pablo Torre isn't an ideal replacement for Pedri - not due to lack of experience

Barcelona are facing some serious squad problems in midfield as they will miss both(injured) and Gavi (suspended) in their return leg against Manchester United.

In the latest presser, Xavi was asked whether youngster Pablo Torre was ready, if need be, to play from the start.

“He is ready to play from the start and he needs to be ready, we will need him,” the coach said.

Xavi went on to comment on Torre’s lack of action since his move to Camp Nou and why he’s not the ideal replacement for Pedri.

“There’s always someone who doesn’t play. If he was playing, you would be asking me about someone else.

“He is different from Pedri, he’s more of a second striker or attacking midfielder than a central midfielder. He shoots, runs into the box, that’s how he makes the difference.”

This season so far, Pablo has played 213 minutes for Barca in six different matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He’s started three games for Barca but it was always against much weaker opponents.
