Victor Osimhen Sets New Record As His Hat-Trick Fires Napoli To A Win Over Sassuolo

Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen hit another history on Saturday afternoon after bagging a hat-trick in Napoli’s 4-0 victory over Sassuolo in their Italian Serie A battle.

The Nigerian International, Victor Osimhen went on with his tremendous scoring consistency as Napoli expanded their winning streak to 13 matches in all competitions.

The Super Eagles and Napoli star had netted in all matches since he came back from his hamstring injury, and he went on in the same energy on Saturday afternoon against Sassuolo.

It did not take the Super Eagles striker a long minute to get going as he scored the first goal to put Napoli at the front inside four minutes. The Nigerian goal machine read the ball well and got on the end of a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, netting from a close distance.

The lethal duo blended well again in the 19th minute, with the Nigerian striker, Osimhen sliding home a low cross from the in-form Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian International, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then turned from assisting to bagging his goal as he completed a pass from Mario Rui to give the Serie A leaders a three-goal head at half-time.

Napoli started again in the second half from where they left off in the first half, overwhelming proceedings as they dug through for the fourth. The Neapolitans had their fourth goal in the 77th minute through Victor Osimhen, who made his first professional hat trick with a fresh chip.

It was Victor Osimhen’s first professional hat trick, the first of many in the Italian Serie A, and also became the first Super Eagles player to achieve this success.

It was also the Nigerian goal machine’s first hat trick in Europe’s top five leagues. With the Saturday hat-trick against Sassuolo, Victor Osimhen moved top of the scoring list with seven (7) goals from eight matches.

Meanwhile, the victory broadens Napoli’s lead at the top of the Italian Serie A table to six (6) point margin, though the second-placed side, AC Milan could cut the points back to three (3) points if they win the game against Torino tonight.
