Inter Miami’s playoff defeat to NYCFC spells the end of the road for Gonzalo Higuain, who is headed to retirement after a standout career.

The certified legend played the last game of his career on a baseball diamond against a bunch of guys with “DUDE WIPES” on their sleeves. As Inter Miami lost in the playoffs, Gonzalo Higuain broke down in tears as he celebrated the end of his brilliant football career.

Higuain scored 366 goals, 127 assists in 785 senior appearances and won 14 trophies, including three La Liga titles and three Serie A titles, with 12 goals in his last 14 games for Inter Miami in his football career.

During an interview with him, Gonzalo Higuain discussed what he would be taking away from his experience in his career as a whole, as well as the legacy he is leaving behind.



Gonzalo Higuain says that for post-retirement, he will be looking into mental health research and mental health coaching to help others. “I don’t think there’s enough emphasis on the importance of mental health, especially in football, and I’d love to help young people.” – He said.


Higuain said that he’d like to study “mental coaching,” helping young players and experienced professionals, possibly with Inter Miami.
