Laporta storms into referees room after Clasico as potential Barca penalty ignored, demands explanations

The referee’s decisions in the latest Clasico didn’t go Barcelona’s way, to put it lightly.

The most ardent example was the ignored penalty on Robert Lewandowski. Dani Carvajalobviously hit the striker’s knee, causing him to fall to the ground. But the referee ignored it and VAR did nothing to correct him either.

This episode happened around the 73rd minute, meaning that the Catalans would’ve had all the time to mount a comeback if the penalty was awarded.

As the official protocol confirms, our president Joan Laporta entered the referees’ room after the game to demand explanations about several episodes from the game. The president was asked to exit the room and there was no further escalation.
