BAR 3 VS 3 INT: Talking points as Xavi’s mistakes cost Barcelona a win at Camp Nou.

Xavi and his men locked horns with Serie A giants Inter Milan in their next UEFA Champions League game on match day four this season. The last time both teams met, the match ended in 1 goal to nil in favor of the away side.

The Blaugranas commenced the game in a 4-3-3 formation while the away side lined up in a 3-5-2 formation.

Ousmane Dembele put Barcelona ahead in the 40th minute. N. Barella equalized in the 50th minute and 13 minutes later L. Martinez doubled the lead. Lewandowski made it 2-2. R. Gosens put Inter Milan ahead again but Lewandowski once again equalized for Barcelona.

Three talking points in the game are;

1. BARCELONA VETERAN’S POOR PERFORMANCE

The Blaugranas were once again defeated by the Serie A giants at th Camp Nou as a result of some mistakes by the Barcelona veterans. Both Barcelona captains, Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets were responsible for Inter Milan’s goals.

2. DE JONG BENCHED.

The Dutch International midfielder over time has been one of the best midfielders in the club and should have started the game ahead of Gavi or Busquets because of his creativity and defensive ability.

3. POOR LEWANDOWSKI FIRST-HALF PERFORMANCE

The Polish striker who is the highest goal scorer for Barcelona this term was not at his best in tonight’s game as he gave up the ball easily and could not make a decent cross whenever he had the opportunity to make a cross.
