LA Liga Table After Real Madrid Won 2-1 & Barcelona Won 3-0

Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid defeated cross-town rivals Atletico 2-1 to earn their 9th straight victory and reclaim the top spot on the League Standings.

The damage was all done by the Los Blancos before interval, and with goals from Federico Valverde and Rodrygo, the contest was all but over.

The home team had a few chances in the opening minutes. Felipe fired a looping header just wide, while Yannick Carrasco hit the side netting.

However, it was Real who scored first, with ex-Leeds player Rodrygo capping off an incredible move with a stunning goal after receiving Aurelien Tchouameni’s pass over the top.

However, shortly after the half-hour mark, the Reigning Champions increased their advantage with Valverde benefiting from a rebounded effort from Vinicius Junior who saw his initial came off the woodwork to make it 2-0.

Alvaro Morato & Saul Niguez were two of the players turned to by Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone to get them back in the match. But it was Mario Hermoso who made tge difference from a corner which Thibaut Courtois should have handled better.
