The raid on Abuja’s Kuje Prison on Tuesday, July 5, has been blamed on the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The terrorist demonstrated some of its members shooting their way into the facility in a video posted online on Wednesday night. The 38-second footage showed dozens of warriors walking in formation while cars and buildings caught fire.

The young men who were shouting at the top of their lungs were joined by an older man dressed in native clothing.

The video was uploaded by the Islamic State’s A’maq Agency with the following caption:

“Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.”

The words were written in Arabic.
