All you need to know about Evelyn Joshua, TB Joshua successor
Recall that Prophet TB Joshua passed away at the age of 57 on the 5th of June, a report that continues to shock many within and outside Nigeria to date.
According to recent reports, Evelyn is set to take over the leadership of the church.
A top aide in a statement said, “someone must take charge immediately and give spiritual direction on the mode of service continuity. So much spiritual and financial efforts went into building SCOAN, and it cannot just waste away.”
Background
Evelyn Joshua was born on the 17th of December 1968 in Okala Okpumo, Delta State. Her parents are Mr and Mrs Nicholas Akabude.
She was born a twin, but her brother is late.
She would be 53 in December, 2021.
Education
Evelyn went to St Emecheta Primary School in Ezi Town in Delta State; however completed her primary education at Orile Primary School, Oshodi, upon her relocation to Lagos in 1977. After she married TB Joshua, she went for some management courses in Ghana.
Career
She once worked at the Nigerian Distilleries located in Ota, Ogun state and was attending the Assemblies of God before she met her husband.
How they met
Evelyn met the late pastor TB Joshua in 1990 when she had travelled to Ikotun Egbe, an area in Lagos to visit her sister.
The report revealed that she had gone for counselling and spiritual guidance. However, the late prophet proposed to her on the same day they first met after a 45-minute session.
Although the proposal was strange, she revealed her heart accepted him.
She was 22 years old when she met the late prophet while he was five years older than her.
At first, their relationship faced some challenges owing to their ethnic differences; while TB Joshua hailed from Ondo state, Evelyn is from Delta state.
Children
The two were married for 25 years, and they had three children, all females. She said that the late man of God was not bothered about his children being females.
