Bayern Munich 5-2 Augsburg: Robert Lewandowski BREAKS Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga scoring record
Hansi Flick enjoyed a memorable finale to his reign as Bayern Munich manager after securing an entertaining 5-2 victory over Augsburg in the last Bundesliga match of the season.
Flick, who was saying his farewells to Bayern alongside David Alaba and Javi Martinez, saw his side race into a four-goal lead before half-time through an own goal from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw before strikes from Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich and Kinsley Coman.
The visitors pulled two quickfire goals back in the second half through Andre Hahn and Florian Niederlechner but it was still comfortable enough for the Bundesliga giants.
It appeared as if Robert Lewandowski would miss out on breaking Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga scoring record but in the 90th minute, the Poland striker bagged his history-making goal to complete the rout.
