A nasty drama was witnessed in Botonianda village, Egetonto area, Nyamira County when a husband busted his 45-year-old wife in their matrimonial bed with a 22-year-old man. The man had visited the woman for a sleepover when the two were caught with their pants down.
It took the quick intervention of police officers drawn from Nyamusi police station in Nyamira North to save the two who were under attack by an angry mob. Before the officers arrived and saved the two, they had received a thorough beating from members of the public.
Sources present during the night’s drama have revealed that the woman’s husband, who works as a driver at a company based in Homa Bay, returned home unannounced at about midnight. His repeated knocks on the door fell on deaf ears.
The husband was forced to call the chairman of the Nyumba Kumi initiative after his wife failed to open the door for him. This was after he suspected that something fishy might be going on inside and that the wife had deliberately refused to open the door.
“The husband decided to make a phone call to the local elders of the Nyumba Kumi initiative after several unsuccessful attempts to have the wife open the door for him,” witnesses said.
The Nyumba Kumi chairman alerted other elders who came with him to the house in question. They repeatedly knocked on the door, and the 22-year-old man came out to open it only to be met by a huge crowd standing at the door.
The crowd descended on the two lovebirds with kicks and blows. It was then established that the 22-year-old man comes from Bobasi, in Kisii County. They have been seeing each other for a while.
Nyamira North police boss Patrick Ngeiywa has since confirmed the incident, noting that the two are currently in police custody. The husband is reported to be so heartbroken that he is yet to come to terms with the fact that his wife of many years could cheat on him with such a young man.
