Since I Joined The Business Of Kidnapping Children, I Have Been Bed Wetting – Lady Confesses

Mariam Ayinla, a 26-year-old woman, was detained by Ogun State police officers for kidnapping kids and demanding ransom from their parents.

The defendant, who claimed to have a 5-month-old baby, confessed to abducting two kids before being apprehended by police while being questioned by Alaroye, a specialised Yoruba news outlet.

“I don’t know what overcame me to push me into snatching children,” she said. It happened on the day that a friend with whom we had previously worked at Oshodi met us in Sango. She even paid for the drinks I purchased and the money I needed to rent a bike when I was leaving.

“As I approached the destination, Itele, I noticed my first victim waiting for the bus with another young child. He said he doesn’t know me when I called and pretended to know him. He inquired as to if I knew his mother when I requested the mother’s phone number. I received her phone number from him after that. To make him think I had talked to his mother, I pretended to be calling her in front of him at this point. I then took the child from Itele to Ojuore and called the mother, informing her that the child was with me and that she needed to send me money before I would give the child back to her. Before I brought the child to her, I requested for 100,000, and she sent me 30,000 instead.”

She explained that because she doesn’t have a bank account, she utilized a local POS operator’s account number to collect the money.

At Agbara, she allegedly kidnapped her second victim and demanded 30,000 from the mother. As she attempted to deliver one of the victims to the mother, she said that she was apprehended at a bus terminal in Agbara.

She continued by saying that ever since she decided to abduct kids on a Monday, she has been wetting the bed, which was something she had never experienced before.
