Messi's future at PSG 'complicated', player and family want Barca return (reliability: 4 stars)

According to ESPN Argentina’s Esteban Edul, Lionel Messi’s extension with Paris Saint-Germain is “complicated” but not completely ruled out. His future remains undecided.

The 35-year-old hasn’t made it public but his and his family’s desire is to return to Barcelona. The Catalans are yet to take any concrete actions, though.

Gaston Edul from TyC Sports reports that the match against Bayern Munich was not Messi’s last appearance in the Champions League. The Argentine plans to continue in Europe, either at Barca or PSG.

As a reminder, Messi’s current deal with PSG expires at the end of the season.

The problem for Barca, though, would be Leo’s high wages. The Catalans have to release around €200m in wages ahead of the next season and Messi’s return will definitely take some sacrifices, especially with La Liga’s president Javier Tebas doing everything to make our lives as difficult as possible.
