Arsenal’s transfer plans for Isco emerge as Mikel Arteta makes Spaniard his top target

Arsenal have reportedly made Real Madrid midfielder Isco their number one transfer target ahead of the January window.

The Gunners have struggled in the Premier Leaguethis season and are six points off the relegation zone after 15 matches played.

And according to PA, the Gunners are hoping to sign the Spaniard on a half-season loan when the window opens in a couple of days.

Arsenal hope the lure of being one of the first names on their team-sheet will sway the 28-year-old’s decision, and are said to be ‘genuinely keen’ on making a deal happen.

Reports in Spain complicate things further as it has been claimed Isco would rather continue playing in La Liga and move on loan to Sevilla.

Other reports make for even worse reading from an Arsenal perspective, as it is claimed Zidane has no intention of letting the midfielder leave.
