“4 Actors Wanted To Have S€x With Me on the Same Movie Set Before Giving Me a Role” – Adesewa Coker
Veteran Yoruba actress Adesewa Coker has opened up about her harrowing experiences in the film industry, shedding light on the challenges that led her to step back from acting.
In a candid interview on Kunleafod TV, hosted by Kunle Afod, Coker detailed a disturbing incident involving multiple actors on a movie set.
The actress revealed, “I faced a lot of challenges in the movie industry, and one of them was when some actors insisted on sleeping with me. One day, I was working with a top actor at a movie location, and he insisted that I leave the movie location because he asked me for a relationship and I refused. Four actors wanted to have sex with me on the same movie set before giving me a movie role.”
Coker emphasized the emotional toll of such experiences but expressed gratitude to her husband for his unwavering support. “I’m always grateful to my husband because he doesn’t listen to all the negative things that people say about me,” she said.
Her revelations have sparked discussions about the prevalence of harassment in the Nigerian film industry and the challenges female actors face behind the scenes.
Coker, a household name in Yoruba cinema, has taken a step back from acting, focusing instead on other ventures. However, her story highlights the urgent need for reforms in Nollywood to ensure a safer and more professional environment for all actors.
