Atiku Abubakar Hails Protesters, Calls On More Nigerians to Join the Protest

As the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest enters its second day, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has urged more Nigerians to join the peaceful demonstration. He also commended protesters for their restraint and dedication, while calling on them to maintain their peaceful stance.

In a statement on his verified X (Twitter) handle, Atiku acknowledged the significance of the public protests, which have provided a vital channel for expressing disapproval of government policies and promoting good governance. He noted that while most protesters have been peaceful, there have been isolated instances of violence, leading to clashes and brutalities by the police.

Atiku urged protesters to remain peaceful and encouraged more Nigerians to show solidarity and support for the #EndBadGovernance protest. He emphasized the importance of exercising dignity and respect for the law during this pivotal moment.

Atiku also called on the police to engage more professionally in managing the protests, refraining from killing innocent citizens and molesting journalists. He encouraged security agencies to identify and isolate violent elements, ensuring that the actions of a few do not tarnish the majority of peaceful protesters.

Addressing the government, Atiku admonished them to heed the voices of the people and demonstrate a sincere commitment to addressing the protesters’ demands. He emphasized the need for leadership to listen and act with integrity and urgency, as the nation cannot afford further days of unrest.
