Vice President Kashim Shettima Goes On His Knees To Greet Oba Adetona At His 90th Birthday Ceremony

During the 90th birthday celebration of the Awuaale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Vice President Kashim Shettima displayed humility by kneeling to pay his respects.

Speaking at the event, Shettima also acknowledged the Federal Government’s decision to take control of Oba Adetona’s Post-Graduate School on Policy and Governance Studies.

Additionally, Shettima conferred upon the royal figure the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) in recognition of his milestone birthday. Highlighting the Oba’s 64-year reign and commitment to service, Shettima praised him as an exemplary leader.

 

 

Shettima lauded the Oba’s courage, dignity, and dedication to duty, especially noting his resilience during the struggle for democracy between 1993 and 1999. The gesture of Kashim Shettima kneeling and the accolades bestowed upon the Awujale signify a deep reverence for his contributions and leadership.
