Medina Cantajelo president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) in La Liga, has been ousted from his role for allegedly manipulating VAR to harm Real Madrid, according to El Debate.
The source reveals that the CTA has always had a private room for every game called the operations room.
A whistle-blower complaint claimed that instructions are often given to VAR and AVAR from that room regarding questionable incidents on the pitch.
“Real Madrid chooses, with unusual frequency, the appropriate frame that always harms it, regardless of the video assistant referee and assistant that are designated for that match,” the complaint stated.
The complaint also provided evidence of manipulation and concealment of VAR images against Real Madrid.
Thus, Cantajelo and some members of the CTA have been removed from their positions while the investigation remains ongoing.
Real Madrid TV cast serious aspersions against VAR and the referees following their game against Atletico Madrid in which they dropped points. Today we hear of a top member of the technical committee being secretly relieved of his duties.
