Ademola Lookman’s dad was delighted after his son’s goal against Angola saw Nigeria progress to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria prevailed with a 1-0 win, with Atalanta’s Lookman finding the net in the 41st minute.
Following their victory, Nigeria will face either Cape Verde or South Africa in the last four.
Lookman’s father was interviewed after the game and said: ‘I’m happy, I’m overwhelmed, I am so happy. I’m pleased for Nigeria winning this game.’
However, it wasn’t all good news for Nigeria, with Victor Osimhen having to be taken off on a stretcher after suffering an injury.
Nigeria face an anxious wait to see whether Osimhen will be available for Wednesday’s semi-final.
After taking seven points from their three group stage fixtures, Nigeria finished in second place in Group A.
They subsequently managed to get the better of Cameroon before overcoming Angola.
