We have started production of Diesel & fuel & the product will be in market this month – Dangote

According to Vanguard, the Dangote Refinery has confirmed that it will make diesel and aviation fuel available in the market this month, representing a significant achievement for the $20 billion refinery project. The refinery, with a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has commenced production and is dedicated to meeting the domestic demand for refined products. This announcement comes after the successful delivery of approximately six million barrels of crude oil to the facility over the past weeks.



Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, encouragement, and insightful advice, emphasizing the pivotal role Tinubu played in facilitating the refinery’s progress. Dangote commended Tinubu’s visionary leadership and attention to detail, acknowledging his efforts in overcoming obstacles at various stages and expediting the realization of the refinery project. Additionally, the President extended thanks to the NNPC, NUPRC, and NMDPRA for their consistent support, recognizing them as reliable partners in this historic journey.

According to him, “We also thank the NNPC, NUPRC, and NMDPRA for their support. These organisations have been our dependable partners in this historic journey. We also thank Nigerians for their belief and support in this project. We have started the production of diesel and aviation fuel, and the products will be in the market within this month, once we receive regulatory approvals. This is a big day for Nigeria. We are delighted to have reached this significant milestone. This is an important achievement for our country as it demonstrates our ability to develop and deliver large capital projects.”

Dangote expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering belief and support in the refinery project, emphasizing the initiation of diesel and aviation fuel production. He conveyed that these refined products are set to be accessible in the market within the month, pending regulatory approvals. Dangote underscored the significance of this accomplishment, describing it as a transformative moment for Nigeria, highlighting the nation’s capability to undertake and successfully deliver substantial capital projects.
