African legends Samuel Eto’o, Patrick Mboma and Jay Jay Okocha turned the hands of time after remaking the final of AFCON 2000 between Nigeria and Cameroon in Limbe on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
Cameroon defeated Nigeria on penalties in the 2000 final after goals from Eto’o and Mboma cancelled by Raphael Chukwu and Okocha in regulation time.
The Super Eagles did not get the revenge they wanted as Cameroon strolled to a 3-1 win in Limbe.
Just like the 2000 final, Eto’o was on the scoresheet again, adding to goals from Bernard Tchoutang and Robert Ndip Tambe.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the Barcelona legend is seen smashing home from a lovely cross from the right.

After the match, several of the legendary players shared a moment together reminiscing about the good old days at the Africa Cup of Nations, as reported by 237 Online.
Meanwhile, since the retirement of the former stars, Cameroon have won AFCON twice to add to the earlier three, while the Super Eagles added one to their two.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Ivory Coast next year.
