Woman Loses Canadian Admission After Getting Visa Approval and Resigning From Work

An overseas study consultant, Oludayo Sokunbi, has brought attention to a distressing situation after a Nigerian woman’s admission was abruptly canceled by a Canadian school.

The consultant revealed that the affected woman had successfully obtained a visa approval and even made arrangements for accommodation in Canada before encountering this unexpected turn of events.

Expressing dismay, Sokunbi highlighted the woman’s significant life changes, noting that she had resigned from her job in Nigeria in preparation for her studies abroad. Additionally, he shared another client’s unfortunate circumstance where admission to a Canadian school was revoked, pushing it to Fall 2024.

In a statement, Sokunbi expressed his frustration, stating, “Today is not good at all. One school in Canada sent an email canceling Admission for one of our clients, postponed to Fall 2024 after getting Admission. Another school canceled someone’s Admission after she had obtained visa approval, resigned from work, and paid for accommodation. What kind of trouble is this?”

This sudden cancellation has raised concerns about the unpredictability and challenges faced by Nigerian students pursuing education abroad, particularly in Canada. The affected individuals now find themselves in a distressing and uncertain situation after making significant preparations for their academic pursuits overseas.
